How's it going? Can you hear me? Cool. It took me a minute to get in here because I had this thing set to private. So Just typical boomer shit. What are you guys up to? I feel pretty good. Besides, my buddy Slim is not here. He. . . He was driving over and he got caught in traffic in Canada. And he's been sitting in the same place for three hours. He just keeps sending me the back of this car, which is pretty funny. You're cleaning the shower. Yeah, I'm not really sure. I think they heard that he was the guitar player of King. So the Canadian simulation threw everything they had at him. Apparently flipped over some trucks, flipped over some cars, things like that.
They're just trying to stop the guitar player of King. It's typical. It's typical. But I don't think it's going to be very successful. I need to tell him just to get in here and get on this thing. I know. So the sex appeal of the stream is going down because he's not here. Sorry, ladies. What's going on, Grant? Can I look at the camera? Of course. Am I getting mid? Yeah. Does it seem like I have no autonomy? My neck works. I can look both ways. I can look up and down. You know, they made it over safe. Are you even getting mid right now? What are you doing? Is your. . . Are you gonna release a new LP anytime soon? Yeah, we're a band.
We release them every couple years, but I don't know what soon is, I guess. If it's not soon enough for you, just think of two EPs as an LP because it's kind of the same thing, right? But no, we are going to make an LP. We're making one right now. We're making two right now, actually. My new sleeping song is Wicked. I don't know how you're sleeping to that. Because that's a little bit demented, isn't it? Webster. Can you mail me a book? Yeah, you can mail me whatever. Bill Ruhlin. Are you and Marriott going to do another album? Well, Marriott got killed, so I still do albums with him just in a spiritual form. He's always here in the studio.
I actually got a picture of him over there that Shadowlander drew. It's hanging up on my wall. I'll show you. Sick. He's talented. I don't know if he's in here or not. I don't see his name or anything popping in here What's the bottom string on the King guitars? Oh, we play six strings and they're a 70. They're a 70. Telephone wires or 80 something. It depends. It depends. I was going to get up and grab the guitar too, but I'm just doing the show and tell at that point. So, um, What is I was dancing? Sinead O'Connor told you Wicked is her favorite song. Well, it probably is. Because she's a kindred spirit that I love.
I actually seen her play a very long time ago. Sorry to hear that. Thanks. It's okay. So we have a bunch of songs that we didn't finish, but I just don't feel like. . . That's kind of why I paused putting out a lot of the Avid stuff. I just got a little distracted. What's up? I was just showing your picture. that you gave me i got it you still live in flint yes has the water issue been solved no what's your thing with egypt egypt the person or egypt the country in africa my thing I don't really know how to answer that. It's a, I just feel like I have things to do there.
So I go there as often as I can to, to work on that. It started to come up a lot when I started to do past life regressions, which is a long story, maybe a topic, uh, for a whole separate thing, but I don't know if I can get that deep into it, but I'm going in a couple weeks, so maybe I can get on here when I'm over there and talk about it. It's only seven hours ahead, so the time is fine. Need more songs with Crowley-themed shit? Crowley, he's got enough attention. He doesn't need any attention from me, really, to be honest. Crowley kind of is like an elephant in the room.
I mention about a dozen things in every song, and Crowley kind of sticks out, and people kind of gravitate to that. I don't mean to put any special emphasis on Crowley or anything that he did above anyone else. I mean, he's not even in my top.
that sounds stupid to say but he kind of just sticks out when you when you mention things that he said but a lot of the things that he said uh were before his time and he was repeating them so um i don't know exactly if i should dive into that i'm kind of i'm trying not to ramble like i usually do and talk for an hour about single person's thing because I'm reading these messages that you're sending I do have nothing against Crowley obviously it's awesome Barry I'm in Canadian hell that's a bit of a paradoxical thing isn't it a tundra type of hell Have I spent any duration of time in the sensory deprivation tank? Well, Barry, at least you're here now.
Because if you were actually here, you would just be sitting right here. And I'd be sitting right here. So I'll just imagine that you are. Yeah, I spent a lot of time in the deprivation tank. I don't know how much. Total, but three, I usually will go anywhere from one to three hours. And I usually go, I've been pretty busy this year, so not as much as typical, but I'd say 12 times a year, maybe something like that. How can I see the 10 year anniversary show? Buddy drove down to Toronto. We're putting something out actually, a recording of it. There's a recording of it on beeps right now that you can go see. I think it's $6 or something like that.
But if you don't, if you don't want to pay that, it has an exclusive window that ends in a couple weeks, maybe the 18th ish. So yeah. You can see it after that. There's also going to be a merchandise item that is kind of like a DVD and it's a Blu-ray and there's a bunch of collector stuff in there and there's a lot of bonus stuff. We haven't seen which Midwest creative you need to message him right there because I see his name in the chat He's supposed to be editing it. So if it's if it's not done just blame it on him. Don't don't worry, but the live record the live blu-ray and the live package Should be up in the store next week I Got a picture of it.
That's why I'm messing with my phone. I'm not trying to diss anyone It's sick. The cover's insane. And you'll see what it's based on, kind of. I'll just put it in there for a quick. I don't want to give too much, you know, because, you know, no reason. Sorry I compared you to Corey Taylor look wise. He's a handsome man. So I don't know why you would apologize to me. I love that guy. I got a Slipknot tattoo. Don't have to apologize to me. What is your favorite King song to perform? I don't have a favorite song to perform, I don't think. The ones that hit me a little bit too deep. that still kind of strike a nerve.
Those wouldn't be my favorite, but they're the most emotional. Do you still listen to Mazzy Starr, even though her career changed? Yeah, I listen to her all the time. That's all. I have her picture right here. I'm looking at her right now. I'll show you. You can see it. Yeah. She's probably one of my favorite singers, not my favorite singer. I've seen her play, too. It was awesome. I actually. . . Send her emails all the time trying to get her to do a song together and Whoever checks her email never responds. It's pretty funny, but I'm still gonna keep spamming her so she's She's just playing hard to get You should do that podcast interview about Egypt with those guys.
You did the wrong one with those guys Always talking to them the other night and fucking bastards man That would be awesome though. If they ever invite me and send me a Zoom link to log on to their show, I could get out and figure this out live from the desert. I'll be there in two weeks. So send me a Zoom link. what numbers have been significant for me lately the witch king's about to drop in that's good that's what we need right now do i like the necklace that you made yes Of course I do. It's awesome. Thank you. I got it over there.
I feel like if I just keep saying I have things and get up and get them, I'm just going to have a pile of shit laying around me. So sorry about that. More about past life regression. Uh, yeah, that'd be cool in the future. Um, I don't know. I don't really know if anyone's really into that, but I'd be, I'd be into that. Um, I started doing that around the first record, which actually kind of brought it up in me when we were doing the memoir show last month. Or, yeah, last month. Some of those anatomies and things like that. They have these stories about, you know, song on Kissinger. He doesn't.
he doesn't deserve any songs he's done enough he's got enough praise he doesn't need my my praise um you know what i mean crowley kind of perverted hermetics maybe it just depends on oh what you he was a pervert anyway so that's kind of a fun pun right but uh it just depends on what's your taste of Hermetics are, in my own view, in my opinion, that you didn't ask for. Hermeticism has become a dogmatic, hierarchical, almost religion in itself. So that's really sad. And that's their problem. Nine Muses is one of the greatest albums. We need a part two. I know. Man, I haven't listened to that in a long time. I appreciate that, though. So thanks.
I have a lot of songs I've just been waiting to drop, but I'm not going to forget, so don't worry. I'm going to. Get to that. Sorry, I kind of spaced out because I was just flipping through my head through a list. Tears went into this drawing. Yeah, and it kind of hit me. When you gave me this drawing, I didn't expect it. It was in a tube, if you remember. And I pulled it out. And it was not the time to pull it out that day. But Wu's birthday is on the 9th. That's in a few days. That's the ninth, the nine muses, the all, it's all, you know.
Will there be more songs from that project or is it a one-off song? The Wicked? Yeah, there's a project, an EP. So if it were one song, we probably just would have made it a collaborative thing with one of our bands or something like that. But I think there's about six or eight. Songs so It'll It'll Get there. I think Landon's in Brazil right now So if I show up at his house just gonna be his wife I don't know that's I don't know if that's a situation. I'm ready to get myself into you know what I mean Hope you're working on touring plans. Yeah, we are right now, actually. Working on touring plans. We're not touring, obviously. I'm at home.
But we're going to be next year. There's a few things that we'll be on. So we should be putting those together as far as dates and things soon. I typically can only endure 1. 5 hours before things get too negative. I don't know. I don't know what you're alluding to. Secret teaching of all ages is a must read. Bill Rulon. That's true. That's actually true. This is the Ben Vine table of Isis right here, which is in the secret teaching. Obviously it doesn't have, I mean, every half the things in this room is in the secret teaching of all ages, but It is kind of a must read. Manly P. Hall is a guy that they don't really make him like anymore.
Barry's in the chat even though he's driving. Can't wait for the Blu-ray. Okay. Yeah, I didn't. . . Mark just kept bothering me about, not bothering me, but bringing up the Blu-ray or the DVD. And I didn't really know people even wanted those. So after hearing about it a dozen times, I thought maybe at least he'll buy them. So people say they want things. We'll usually make it, but we just don't really assume that they want all this stuff. If that makes any sense. I keep writing in hopes you say hello. Hello. I just did. How can I get you guys to sign this when I buy the DVD? Ask. What dessert can I bring you next tour? None.
I'm trying to stay in shape. I don't need these desserts. I did enjoy the cookies. That's the problem. I took them downstairs and ate them all in their entirety. That's the issue. That's the issue with the sweets. What was it like running with the bulls? She's asking you. J Penis, what are you doing in here? Go to work. Aren't you on the road anyway? I don't know what you. . .
what you're talking about you're in here messing around you need to go back to work you have a job to do so um we're supposed to be writing these songs here i am i got the i'm ready to bang out stuff you know what i mean my band's not even here um thank you for responding but you didn't answer my question I guess rephrase it or something. It's a beautiful portrait. Thank you. I want to just, I want to send a few of her vinyls and a book. You can send anything you want. We have a, there's a, there's a, um, a PO box that our store has.
which people send stuff to a lot actually pretty much every day and the people at the post office think i'm insane okay another question what song do you love the brian I think you need to reevaluate the way you're asking shit. Because the is at the end of the sentence. And I'm all for, you know, creativity and everything. But this is getting crazy. I'm going to have to interpret this stuff the way that I'm going to have to interpret it. Who's your favorite singer? Michael Jackson, he's always been my favorite. That's number one. That'll always be number one. Number two is probably Hope Sandoval. That was, that's just me. Obsessed with Wicked. Well done, thanks. Thank you.
Keep asking what song I love the most but I did answer that I said I don't There's not really a love most thing Also, don't really think it matters I I love them all the most in the moment that I create them and then I let him go just Like you do any creation, you know? I give one this attention for as long as it needs and then when it's done I just let it go into the world and then it's your song and it doesn't matter what I think about it. It's over with. And I don't know if that answers your question either but I went to your 10 year show and I was curious about. . . How are you liking the necklace? It's awesome.
It's hanging over there on the window in my room here. But of course I like it. I like everything everyone gives me. That's really nice that they. . . make things like that that take time and energy and things like that. Did you purposely drop Wicked around the release date of the film Wicked? Hmm. Hmm. I have no knowledge about the film Wicked.
coming out i'm not really on the production team on that side and i do like the uh the musical i've seen that a couple times and one in new york and once in london and it was it was awesome and i don't have any idea about the film but i'm sure the film sucks but i'm sure it's fine i've asked this before will you ever play a syracuse show i imagine so yeah i imagine we will just looking at our touring schedule for next year which i won't uh, discussed, but I'm almost positive we'll be in Syracuse. So this guy's sending me videos of shit he's doing. He's supposed to be getting mid. I can't find the touring schedule right now, but, um, Yeah, we're going somewhere. That's my answer.
I don't know if it's Syracuse. But God damn, we've come to New York five times this past two years. How far away is Syracuse from where we're at, Amanda? Or is someone not getting inspired enough to, you know? put their foot on the pedal and figure that out. I'm just joking. Whose idea was it to have the guitar player and drummer behind the King masks and why I didn't like these guys. I had to get, I had to put the mask on them. You know what I mean? We had to up the sex appeal. You know, I felt like it felt pretty good. Me and Gene were going pretty good. You know what I mean? I'm pale, white and redheaded.
He's dark black and black hair and tall. You know what I mean? Linky, long. I'm built up. We had two dynamics and these other guys come along. I'm like, no, you're not. It's not it's not doing all that stuff. So we put the mask on so none of the girls would pass out when we. when we play like they did for the Beatles. When is JP going to get some vocal time? That's what we were talking about this morning. Me and JP were talking about this this morning. And JP should cover Sing Me to Sleep. I'm glad you said that. We're all on the same page because we have some acoustic versions of some songs that we're going to start releasing.
And so you're already intuiting and interpreting what's. . . going on. So just it's coming soon. So don't worry about it. What is your gym programming? Do you do it? And do you do any pre-planning on it? Um, no one else does it. That's what you're saying, but it's practical. Uh, A lot of dynamic stuff, not really bodybuilding and not really powerlifting. I know there's not more than that category-wise, but it's a lot of, I don't want to say CrossFit because I don't belong to that cult, but it's a lot of practical fitness and sports-specific stuff that I do. That's kind of what I designed it around, the main focus. Do you ever get bothered by the fact your fans feel this interconnectedness to you? No, of course not.
I do feel like I might be hurt sometimes by fans. which is funny thing to say but some of sometimes they just do weird shit like follow me to other states and sit outside a hotel room and things like that and i mean don't get me wrong i'm not when i say i feel like i might be hurt i'm not scared i'm just going to hurt them if that's what it comes down to which is sad that it has to be that way but some of these some of these fans are trying to dime bag daryl me i feel like sometimes actually But I don't feel bothered by the interconnectedness because I think it's entirely warranted.
I already, I didn't, I don't want to say I knew this, like I'm psychic, although we're all psychic. But when you write about vulnerable shit like I do, you, people, vulnerability kind of bonds people together in that way, especially when you have. these things in common and so they'll uh kind of people call it trauma dumping but i don't believe in that stuff you can dump whatever you want on me i've you know what i mean that's not i'm not carrying that that burden i like i like to hear everyone's stories and the things that they tell me although it is a bit heavy sometimes um but you most of the stories they're telling me have happened to me as well.
So it's not heavy as in, oh, I was having a good life till you came along and dumped some traumatic things on me. It's not heavy like that. It's not heavy at all. It's things that I've actually dealt with. And the things that I sing about are things that I've actually lived. So it doesn't bother me that people relate to it. And in fact, like, I kind of think that that's what I signed up for, you know? My kids love the Midwest Monsters album. They're seven and six. That's awesome. Thanks, man. I appreciate it. I hope they like the Midwest Monsters 2 as well. I love House of Dust. Oh, me too.
We made an acoustic version of House of Dust as well that we haven't released, obviously. But yeah, I'm glad you guys don't look like a mirror. anymore on google uh i i really that doesn't really matter does it when is the dvd box set coming out and when is your book coming out listen to me man I have, you are not paying attention. I have the box set statistics right here. I already showed everyone what it was. There's a bunch of shit in it, Mark. I see you're playing games. You get a bunch of stuff in this package. It's going to come out next week. I'll show you just so you know I'm not BSing or making that up.
Can you see that, Mark? Do you understand what's going on? So next week. I wear his mark. Okay. Next week, um, that comes out and, but just so you know, it's in it's production next week. So you're, you can't get it next week. You can, you can buy it, but then it takes a minute to get to you, you know, whatever. So don't crucify me for speaking on a turn there. Mark, it's time to give them FOMO, though. They're pretty much all going to have FOMO. What are the chances of getting a king football or baseball? Do you not like the hockey one? Work on the football one. Don't want to go.
don't want to do too much you know because i don't want to i don't want to make it seem like i'm trying to gouge people for money by releasing a hundred dollar jerseys every um every two weeks that seems like poor taste although i know people don't care about that and they'll just gladly buy them so i don't even know why i think like that i just i don't know i just try to we just try to give people you know you A break. Even though it doesn't seem like they want a damn break. You guys are my favorite band. I can't express in the right words. Me too. We're our favorite band as well. Just got nine tatted on the back of my head.
Yeah, nine's a lot in the mix. There's a lot of things happening right now. Maybe we can talk about that. Another time, but the nine is it's it's coming full full-fledged especially within the next year The Native American chanting and the song heart beats from anything Yeah, I recorded it when I was in the jungle Out in between Peru and Brazil and the Amazon. That's a Peruvian Iowa scarrow shaman sixth generation just never left the jungle I admit I did record him without asking him, but I also admit he didn't speak English, so I couldn't have asked him anyway, besides psychically, which, and I must also admit that he knew my intentions and that they were good.
And then we still have the psychic link, and if he were not approving of it, then he would have struck me down with something by now. I remember seeing you guys at Mayhem. You scared the shit out of me. hey no need for fear ever juggle ohio this year i don't know is that a good play grant what do you think gary uh maybe i don't know i gotta get i gotta call ouija ask him to be a part of his event because you know i've been spamming him he's just been ignoring me you know this guy's got shit going on i don't know what he's doing Qualia Music. What are you saying right now? A medley of some of the lesser played songs off Suicide King.
We have three Suicide King medleys that we've played live over the years. Some of them are like six or seven song medleys. And every time. .
